For the second time, Ukrainians are celebrating Christmas and the New Year in the conditions of a full-scale war with Russia. Someone in the rear, under the threat of missile shelling, and the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the trenches on the front line. It is always difficult to celebrate during the war, but at different times people still preserved the festive spirit: they decorated Christmas trees even in bomb shelters and prepared festive dinners for soldiers at the front. And sometimes enemies even arranged a Christmas truce and congratulated each other on the holiday. We will try to explain why there can be no Christmas truce in Russia’s war against Ukraine and discuss the lack of trust in Russian proposals for it.
